1. Application
The Well Test Flowhead, catalogued locally as a Wellhead Control Head, is installed at the wellhead, connected with drill pipe and used to control wellhead fluid discharge.
2. Design Points
The assembly is designed with two flow paths and one reserved top channel. When required on site, the plug can be removed and the reserved channel can be connected for use.
All parts are produced according to the relevant requirements of API Spec 6A. During manufacture, each part is inspected by fluorescent magnetic particle testing, and the assembly is hydrostatically tested at the maximum working pressure of 105 MPa before shipment.
The unit is compact and light in weight, making transportation and field operation easier. The plug valve opening torque is about 190 N·m under 105 MPa pressure. The system matches the rig hoisting system well and is convenient to dismantle and maintain.
3. Technical Parameters
Model JT2 in·105, rated working pressure 105 MPa, bore 2 in.
The lower control-head body uses NC50 connection thread for connection with 4-1/2 in and EU5 in IEU drill pipe. The two flow paths and reserved flow path use 4-1/8 in-3NATL-2G connection thread.
Working temperature range is -45°C to +120°C. When connecting the lower control-head body thread, wrap one layer of PTFE tape and apply a suitable amount of sealing grease. Thread tightening torque is 3000-3400 N·m.
4. Maintenance
Do not dismantle the Well Test Flowhead while it is under working pressure.
After each use, rinse fully with clean water to remove possible impurities or acidic residues inside the body, then wipe dry to prevent corrosion.
Seals in associated Swivel Joint and Plug Valve components should be replaced periodically, and lubricating grease should be added as required.
