High-Pressure Flow Control Equipment

Check Valve

Check valves are non-return devices that help prevent reverse flow in high-pressure flowlines. Common sizes are 2 in to 3 in, with model-specific CWP up to 20,000 psi (140 MPa). Inline flapper models include standard- and reverse-flow arrangements; top-entry flapper and dart types are separate configurations. The tables show selected 15,000 and 20,000 psi models.

1. Product Overview

Check valves are installed in high-pressure flowlines and manifolds to prevent reverse flow of well fluids or service fluids into upstream equipment and lines.

When reverse flow occurs, the flapper or dart inside the valve closes automatically to form a seal and provide one-way flow control.

Main components include the pressure-containing body, seat and closure member (flapper or dart), together with the model-specific bonnet, hinge or guide parts and seals. Inline flapper, top-entry flapper and dart types are separate configurations, typically with union ends.

2. Design Features

The valve body is forged from high-strength alloy steel for rated high-pressure flowline service.

Union ends permit rapid rig-up and break-out after the line has been isolated, depressurized and verified safe.

HNBR and other seal materials are supplied where specified for the ordered fluid, temperature and service environment.

Inline flapper, top-entry flapper and dart configurations are selected by flow direction, access requirements, pressure rating and line layout.

3. Check Valve Main Technical Parameters

Stated Product-Family CWP: 6,000 psi (42 MPa) to 20,000 psi (140 MPa) for inline flapper types, and 6,000 psi (42 MPa) to 15,000 psi (105 MPa) for top-entry flapper and dart types. The displayed tables list selected 15,000 and 20,000 psi models; other ratings require model-specific documentation.
