1. Product Overview
The API 6A Studded Adapter Flange is used to connect API 6A flanged equipment having different nominal sizes, pressure ratings or flange interfaces. A two-face version is commonly specified as a Double-Studded Adapter (DSA).
The overall stated range is 2 1/16 in to 5 1/8 in at 5,000 psi to 15,000 psi. The table below lists selected models through 4 1/16 in. Double-studded adapters, studded tees, studded crosses and multiport bodies are distinct configurations and must be specified by approved drawing.
Standard-, low-temperature- and sour-service material configurations are available. For sour service, materials are selected for the stated environment in accordance with NACE MR0175/ISO 15156. Each end connection must match an approved interface drawing.
2. Design Features
Manufactured to the applicable dimensional, material and testing requirements of API Spec 6A when specified. This conformance statement does not imply API Monogram eligibility outside the licensed product scope shown on the Certificates page.
The body is machined from an alloy-steel forging and heat-treated to the specified mechanical-property requirements for rated pressure-containing service.
Sealing grooves are machined by CNC equipment, providing high dimensional accuracy and reliable sealing performance.
Studded tees, crosses and multiport bodies are configured to the approved manifold arrangement drawing; they are not variants of a two-face DSA merely because they use studded flange interfaces.
3. API 6A Studded Adapter Flange Main Technical Parameters
The source catalogue lists individual flange-interface options rather than complete two-face DSA pairings. For a DSA, specify both faces, through bore, face-to-face dimension and stud details on the approved drawing; the entries below are not complete adapter ordering codes.
